We learned the names of our body parts like hair, arm, nose, and toes. And then, we count! We continue on with a book called “One fish, Two fish, Red fish, Blue fish” Our final week was “All about Me”. This lesson develops our coordination and motor skills, we have to be very still to catch the fish. Our toddlers had to count how many little “fish” (pipe cleaner shapes) they could pick up with our “fishing pole” (straw). Then, we played a motor skill fishing game. We identified the gills, fins, and scales. We discussed the life cycle of a fish and during that time, our little friends completed a worksheet on parts of the fish. The most fun part was making a Frida Kahlo pinata using a toilet paper roll.ĭuring our 3rd week of the month, we learned all about zoology. Children got to see some of her most famous paintings and did their self-portrait using a mirror, just like Frida did. To finish up this week we went over Frida Kahlo. Children loved doing the playdough activity. This way we learned a lot about each other. This was a very fun activity because children got to talk in front of their friends and tell us what each item in their bag represented. We did a “ME” bag in which all the children had to bring a bag with 3 things that best described them or of things they liked. We had fun creating booklets and then showing our friends who are in our “family tree”. The children love coloring and telling teachers about their favorite things, their family, and their dislikes as well. We gained many beautiful faces and are thrilled to welcome new friends who have joined us in the new school year.ĭuring the first week of September, we got to learn about each other. The children and the staff had so much fun during the summer. We are happy and thrilled to have kicked off the new 2023-2024 school year.
